Founded by the Lyonese Silk Trading Company »Arles – Dufour & Co.« in Basel / Switzerland. Trading in silk and silk waste in Switzerland and South-Germany.
Mr. J.F. Mueller takes over the company and changes the company name to
J.F. Mueller, Basel. He adds Bourette and Bourette yarns to the product line.
The company rises up to be the leading trader in the northern Swiss area.
Ernst J.F. Mueller takes over the company after having been 5 year in China.
He adds a wool division to the business.

Change of company name into J.F. Mueller & Co, Basel.
First steps in cashmere business, purchase of a deharing machine.
Founding shareholder of Borsalino Cappellificio La Moderna in Giubiasco.
1946
Purchase of large quantities of Cape Wools
and organization of the first wool auction in Switzerland after the war.

First purchase of raw cashmere in China – more than 200 tons.
Purchase of a dehairing line and start of large scale trading of cashmere.
Construction of a complete new mill in Therwil,
start of Afghan cashmere business.
Change of company name to J.F. Mueller & Co AG, Therwil.
First purchase of Mongolian cashmere through Moscow, 350 tons greasy.
1970s
Adding more noble fibres to the product line as
Yak, Angora, Mohair, Alpaca and camel.
1978
Purchase of a new dehairing machine and increase
of cashmere tops business in Italy.
1996
Relocation of the cashmere dehairing line to China / Iran.
2008
Taking over of the activities by Mr. Peter Meyer,
change of name into JFM Specialty Fibres AG, Therwil.
Focusing on trade of Afghan, Mongolian and China Cashmere
as well as Mulberry and Tussah silk tops
